New Zealand is made up of two main islands, the North, Te Ika a Maui and South Islands, Te Wai Pounamu. The two islands have distinct landscapes and locations, the south island is dominated by the snow capped Southern Alps and large sways of forest. Whereas the North Island is volcanic, Taupo is a highly active area, with geysers, boiling mud ponds and very space like terrain.

If your project requires very different locations with landscapes, plants and wildlife that are not seen anywhere else in the world then New Zealand is the place for you.

Weather conditions are very different dependant on where you are situated on the islands from extremely wet on the West Coast of the Southern Island to the semi arid climate in the Mackenzie Basin near Canterbury.
This variety of landscape has made it a popular location for the production of films, including the Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Last Samurai. So the film industry is very well catered for.
